Hedonism II is the adults-only, all-inclusive resort on Negril’s beach that people mean when they search for a swingers or lifestyle trip to Jamaica. It is not a Desire resort. Desire’s properties are in Mexico. Hedo, as repeat guests call it, sits on Norman Manley Boulevard and has been the Caribbean’s best-known clothing-optional hotel since the 1970s.
The resort is built for couples and singles 18 and older who want a social beach week where nudity and flirtation are normal, and where playing with other people is optional. It is not a facilitated polyamory community. Polyamorous and ENM guests do stay, especially during hosted weeks, but the standing scene is a vacation resort with a nude side, a playroom, and a different theme every night.
This guide covers the layout, what the rate includes, how events change the crowd, what a day feels like, and the consent and camera rules that keep the place workable. Policies below come from Hedonism II’s own FAQ and electronics policy. Theme nights, rates, and takeover calendars change, so confirm them on hedonism.com before you book.

General Information
Where it is and what it is
Hedonism II is at Norman Manley Boulevard, P.O. Box 25, Negril, Jamaica, phone 876-957-5200. The official site is hedonism.com. It occupies a beachfront strip at the north end of Negril’s beach, on Bloody Bay, set back from the road so the nude beach is not visible from the street. The property has about 280 guest rooms, split between clothing-optional and au naturel (nude) room blocks.

Who can stay
The minimum age is 18, including for a guest pass. Couples are the majority, and singles are allowed. A single-occupancy rate is 150 percent of the per-person nightly rate. More than one male per room is not accepted, so MM, MMM, and MMF bookings are refused. Maximum occupancy is three, and a triple has to be arranged with reservations@hedonism.com. That booking rule matters for polyamorous households: a male-female-male trio cannot reserve a room under current policy.
Stay rules and the two sides
The minimum stay is three nights. Some promotions require longer. Check-in starts at 3 p.m. and check-out is noon. A refundable $250 hold covers incidentals. Direct-booking cancellation terms are no penalty at 31 nights out, $350 per person from 8 to 30 days, and a 100 percent penalty inside seven days. Early departure forfeits unused nights.
“Prude” means clothing-optional, not conservative. Swimwear, topless, or nude is allowed at that pool and beach. The nude beach, nude pool, and nude hot tub require nudity on entry. Restaurants, the lobby, the gift shop, and the wine bar require a cover-up.

How it compares
Hedo is lifestyle-friendly and open to singles. Desire Riviera Maya and Desire Pearl are the closer brand comparison, and they are couples-oriented resorts in Mexico, not Negril. Temptation Cancun is a party hotel with topless areas, not a required-nude resort.
Key Features and Amenities
Pools, beach, and hot tubs
The official count is six pools: a clothing-optional main pool, a clothing-optional pool with a swim-up bar, three clothing-optional plunge pools, and a nude pool with its own swim-up bar. There are two hot tubs, one on each side. The nude beach runs along the au naturel half of the property. Guests who want the social center book nude-side rooms. Guests who want a quieter base book the clothing-optional side and walk over.

Rooms
Rooms are sold as clothing-optional or nude, in garden and ocean view, classic and premium. Premium categories often add a terrace or balcony hot tub. Planning guides have recently shown sample rates from about $240 per person for a garden-view clothing-optional classic room, with ocean-view premium and au naturel premium higher. Those figures move with season and takeover weeks, so price your own dates.

Dining and drinks
Meals, snacks, beach grills, the buffet, and sit-down restaurants are included. Outlets regularly named by the resort and guests are the Dining Terrace buffet, Pastafari for Italian, Harry San (Harrysan) for Japanese-style teppanyaki and sushi, and Flame beach grill, plus a nude-side grill. Vegan and gluten-free requests are taken. Proper clothing is required wherever food is served: chest, genitals, and backside covered. Drinks include premium cocktails, Red Stripe on tap, and house wine and champagne, available 24 hours. The resort is cashless.

Sport and spa
Included water sport covers kayaks, snorkeling, paddleboards, Sunfish sailing, Hobie Cats, and a glass-bottom boat. PADI-certified divers get daily scuba included; courses cost extra. Land options include tennis, pickleball, volleyball, and a gym. Spa treatments are extra. Basic Wi-Fi is included; premium Wi-Fi is not. There is no individual tipping. A front-desk box shares any gift across non-managerial staff.
Events and Activities at Hedonism II, Negril
How a day is built
Daytime is beach, pool, and optional sport. The aquatics desk runs the included boats and boards. Certified divers can take the free daily dives; a discover course and higher certifications are paid add-ons. Late afternoon belongs to the nude pool. After dinner the resort shifts to a theme party, a stage show, and the disco.

Theme nights
Every night has a theme. An April-to-June 2026 calendar listed Flower Power, Jamaica Night, Tribal Glow Affair, Latex & Lingerie, Casino Night, Rock Is Back, and Naughty School Girl across the week. Themes rotate, so check the current schedule before you pack. Costumes are optional. Repeat guests still say a simple outfit is the easiest way to start a conversation. One lingerie set, one glow option, and a cover-up will cover most weeks.

Signature weeks and takeovers
The resort promotes its own event weeks, including Horroween / Sins of the Flesh in late October, the Chairman’s Anniversary week in late November, and Big Game Valentine Week in mid-February. Outside hosts overlay the calendar with lifestyle weeks such as SwingBreakers, Casual Swinger weeks, and Swinkation, which mixes kink and ENM workshops with play. Those hosted weeks change the crowd more than the hotel does. A takeover can skew younger and more coupled. A blank week is more repeater-heavy.
What you will not find on the program
Hedo does not run a standing polyamory curriculum. Workshops, if they happen, come from the group that bought the week. Off-property Negril, including the cliffs and Rick’s Café, is easy to add and is not why most lifestyle guests book.
Visitor Experience
The first full day
Most guests land at Sangster International in Montego Bay and ride 90 to 120 minutes to Negril. After the 3 p.m. check-in, the real choice is which pool to try first. The clothing-optional pool is the softer start. The nude pool is the social one, with a swim-up bar and a grill serving pizza, burgers, and jerk chicken. Dinner requires a cover-up. Theme night follows. The Playroom opens at 10 p.m.; walking in does not oblige you to stay or to play.
Who is in the house
The mix is couples, some singles, hosted groups, and long-time repeaters. Ages often cluster from the 30s to the 50s, younger during certain takeovers. People are direct on the nude side after dark. Plenty of couples never play with anyone else. Recent first-timer reviews on Tripadvisor describe the tone as welcoming rather than pushy, including guests who had never been nude in public.

Noise, polish, and value
This is the unfiltered option in the category. Rooms near the nude pool stay lively late. Garden blocks farther from that pool are the usual compromise for nude-side guests who still want sleep. The property is not a new design hotel. Renovated premium rooms are the better bet if finish matters. Food is generally defended for the rate and uneven by outlet. Pastafari draws the most consistent praise. The open bar is the value that keeps repeaters coming back.
Who it suits
It suits couples who have already agreed on boundaries, and singles who understand the playroom invitation rule. It is a poor fit if you need a quiet couples-only bubble or a hosted polyamory community every week of the year.
Safety and Conduct Policies
Consent
Communication and consent are the posted standard. Play only if invited. Touching without permission is a zero-tolerance issue. Nudity is not consent, and entering a play space is not a commitment to join. Staff and repeat guests both treat “no” as the end of the ask.
Play spaces
The main Playroom is beyond the courtyard, opposite the tennis courts, open 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., with hostesses on duty. It is for couples, single women, and invited single men. The resort describes it as participatory rather than a spectator gallery. The Happening Hut, by the nude pool, is smaller, unmanned, and open 24 hours. Day-pass and night-pass guests are barred from both for insurance reasons. Smoking, glass, and some wardrobe items such as high heels may be restricted inside.
Cameras and electronics
Privacy is the rule the resort enforces hardest. Phones, tablets, laptops, e-readers, and cameras are prohibited on the nude beach, nude pools, nude hot tub, nude grill, and in both play spaces. Smart glasses and any wearable that can record are banned property-wide, even if you do not plan to use the camera. In clothing-optional areas, a photo cannot include another guest. Shows may not be filmed. Violations can mean confiscation or removal. An in-house photographer can be booked if you want pictures.
Alcohol and the world outside the gate
The bar is unlimited, which is a safety issue as much as a perk. Jamaica outside the resort does not share resort norms. Treat the hotel as the controlled environment, and follow local law on any trip into Negril.
Practical Information
Getting there
Fly into Montego Bay (MBJ). Round-trip transfers are extra and booked through Holiday Services at holiday-services.com/hedonism, the resort’s licensed provider. Budget 90 to 120 minutes each way. Some hosted groups include the transfer on stays of four nights or more. A short stay barely justifies the drive.
Money on site
The resort is cashless, and extras post to the room. Individual tips are not accepted. The front-desk box is the only approved way to leave something extra, and it is shared. Plan cash or card for spa treatments, premium Wi-Fi, scuba courses, the resort photographer, and any dinner off property. A $250 hold is placed at check-in and is usually released in one to two days, sometimes longer.
Rates, passes, and rules that affect the bill
Three nights is the minimum. Sample published rates in 2026 planning guides started around $240 per person for a lower garden room and climbed well above that for ocean-view premium during events. Confirm taxes and blackout dates. Day, night, and combined guest passes exist; pass holders still cannot use the play spaces or a guest room. Published pass prices vary by couple, single man, and single woman, so check the current card before you rely on them.
What to pack
Bring reef-safe sunscreen, cover-ups, one or two theme outfits, water shoes, and a lock or room safe for the phone you cannot take to the nude side. Divers should carry certification cards. Basic Wi-Fi is included and is often enough for messaging; do not expect to stream from the nude beach, because devices are not allowed there.
Online Presence and Community Engagement
Official channels
Hedonism II publishes the rules that matter on hedonism.com: the FAQ and travel tips, the electronics policy, the activities pages, and the playroom page. Those override Facebook folklore. The resort’s social accounts are promotional. They are not a guest forum, and they will not tell you who is playful in a given week.
Unofficial planning sources
DennyP’s long-running Hedo pages collect schedules, rate-break notes, and room observations. They are useful and unofficial. Host agencies such as Castaways Travel and AWOL publish first-timer sheets and group dates. Use them for “what week looks like,” then re-check the hotel for cancellation terms and room category.
Where guests actually talk
Lifestyle boards and apps carry the real crowd reports. SwingTowns, and host pages for weeks such as Swinkation are where couples compare takeover dates. Large Facebook repeater groups are active, unevenly moderated, and full of outdated theme calendars. Tripadvisor, at 4.4 from more than 4,400 reviews and ranked among Negril hotels, is better for food, rooms, and service than for playroom etiquette.
Polyamorous and ENM travelers
There is no permanent polyamory circle on property. ENM and poly guests concentrate in hosted weeks that advertise workshops on boundaries, kink, or open relationships. If meeting people before you fly matters, use a lifestyle network to see who is already booked into Negril that week, and do not treat a public Facebook comment as a house rule.
Visitor Testimonials and Reviews
The public score
Tripadvisor listed Hedonism II at 4.4 out of 5 from 4,424 reviews in October 2026, 17th of 75 hotels in Negril. That score mixes lifestyle guests with curious first-timers, so it is a service rating, not a measure of the playroom. Lifestyle writeups run warmer among people who already wanted this kind of hotel.
What repeat praise sounds like
First-timers often say the nude side felt judgment-free and that nobody pushed them to play. A March 2025 review from a new couple called the week the best vacation they had taken in years and said other guests were respectful. Nightly shows draw consistent compliments; one 2026 guest singled out the Wednesday fetish show and the nude-pool grill. Hosted weeks such as SwingBreakers get credit for making introductions easier.
What the complaints cluster around
The recurring knocks are older non-renovated rooms, food that depends on the outlet, and nude-side enforcement that can feel abrupt if you did not read the rule. The resort has publicly replied that nude beach, pool, and hot tub must stay nude because repeat guests demand it. The Montego Bay transfer is the other steady gripe. Experienced lifestyle guests sometimes find the hosted playroom stricter than a city club: invitation only, no pure spectating.
How to read a review
Weight recent reviews that name a month and a side of the resort. A comment from a takeover week will not describe a blank week, and a prude-side stay will not describe the nude pool after 11 p.m.
Conclusion
Hedonism II is Jamaica’s long-running clothing-optional resort, not a Desire property and not a year-round polyamory retreat. It fits couples and singles who want a nude beach, a clear consent rule, nightly themes, and the option to play or sit that out. Book the room side that matches your day, check whether a takeover is in house, and re-read the electronics and cancellation rules before you pay. If you want couples-only and a more managed setting, look at Desire in Mexico instead.
